Upcoming Affiliate Marketing Conferences

Over the next few months there are a couple of conferences for Affiliate Marketing  and related subjects that promise to be worthwhile and exciting, filled with education and networking.

The first up is next month’s Affiliate Summit East 2012. Affiliate Summit East 2012 is the twenty first Affiliate Summit conference. Founded in 2003 by Missy Ward and Shawn Collins, Affiliate Summit Conferences’ purpose is to educate and foster positive relationships between all parties involved in Affiliate Marketing. Through the educational sessions and both formal and informal networking opportunities, these conferences have helped propel affiliate marketing in a positive direction.

Each year, Affiliate Summit is held in the winter in the west (Affiliate Summit West) and in the summer in the east (Affiliate Summit East). Holding a summit in the west and the east makes it more practical for any affiliate, merchant, agency or other interested person to attend at least one; many attendees attend both east and west on a yearly basis. Additionally, smaller 1 or 2 day Summits are often held such as this year’s Affiliate Summit Central held in Texas during May.

Affiliate Summit East 2012 will be another great event. It is being held August 12-14 at the Hilton New York. In addition to the Meet Market (Sunday) and the Expo (Monday and Tuesday), there are sessions over all three days that are suited for every level of experience. I’ll be giving a little preview over the next few days on the schedule and some of the sessions but visit the Affiliate Summit website for more information and to purchase your pass. The conference is scheduled to sell out so be sure to grab a pass now.

I will be attending and covering Affiliate Summit East 2012 as Press and look forward to seeing you there.

One of the newest conferences is Affiliate Management Days. Affiliate Management Days (AMDays) was founded by Geno Prussakov, a well known Affiliate Marketing consultant and program manager. Author of several books on affiliate marketing, Geno founded AMDays specifically for affiliate program managers. The sessions touch on a variety of subjects to manage and grow an affiliate program such as using analytics, recruiting and motivating affiliates, fraud detection and prevention,  and industry issues. The next AMDays will be held October 9-10 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Be sure to visit AMDays website to learn about the past conference and purchase your pass for Fort Lauderdale. The conference is a worthwhile event for any program manager.

Other related industry events scheduled for upcoming events include Search Marketing Expo East (SMX East) October 2-4 and  AdTech NY November 7 & 8, both at the Jacob Javits Center.

Been to 1 summit, I think it was in ’10. Excited to go again as it was so awesome. Only bad thing missed the hotel rate so I am staying nearby. Hadn’t heard about affiliate management ddays but I am not a manager.
I just saw that Geno prussakov has
Couple of books, which one do you suggest for me? I’m still learning

Melanie, thank you for the mention of Affiliate Management Days. We’ve had a great conference in San Francisco earlier this year, and are very much looking forward to the October one in Florida.

Tony, I hope you’ve enjoyed ASE12. I’ve found it to be the most productive East Coast one yet. As for my books, while all of them are for affiliate managers, you may still enjoy my latest, “Affiliate Program Management: An Hour a Day”. It covers everything an affiliate program manager needs to know/do to build an affiliate-friendly affiliate program. And as an affiliate, you can use the book to tell a worthwhile affiliate program from one to stay away from.

You’re very welcome Geno. I heard a lot of great things about Affiliate Management Days.

Thank you for your part in educating our industry and helping it move forward.
