Days Two and Three of Affiliate Summit

by Melanie on August 12, 2010

Monday and Tuesday  of Affiliate Summit East means another great day of networking and sessions.  In the Exhibit Hall, which opens at 10 am each day, you will find plenty of booths representing merchants, vendors, networks, agencies and others. Stop by those that interest you to check out the offer or services provided. Most of the tips mentioned in Affiliate Summit Meet Market Tips apply to the Exhibit Hall.

At 9:45 Monday morning is a keynote address by Doctor Frank Luntz, a political consultant and pollster. He is also an author of business books including “Words That Work, Its Not What You Say, Its What People Hear. Dr Luntz will be introduced by Jim Kukral. The keynote address is open to all pass holders and is generally well attended.

On Tuesday the keynote address will be given by Jim Kukral, owner of a web business consulting firm and author of recently released ”Attention! This Book Will Make You Money”.  He will be introduced by Shawn Collins, co-founder of Affiliate Summit.

In addition to the Exhibit Hall and the keynote addresses, you will find several sessions are scheduled for both days. Topics include utilizing social media, mobile marketing, SEO and blogging. As you did for Sunday’s sessions, take time to review the session description to select those that will benefit you most.

One session that I highly recommend is Wil Reynolds session “Link Building Victories and Failures” on Monday at 11:30 am. I have been very fortunate to hear Will speak at past Summits and I always learn at least a few new things, a sentiment echoed by many. This session should benefit anyone with a website whether they are an affiliate or a merchant.

At times you will have more than one session of interest occurring at the same time, fortunately sessions are recorded.  At 2:00 on Monday is an intermediate session titled “Avoiding the Google Slap”with Frederick Vallaeys of Google and Dush Ramachandra of ClickBank. This session concerns itself with landing page quality scores and ad quality guidelines. Also at 2:00 is a session by Jeremy Schoemaker (of Shoemoney) that should be of interest to affiliates looking to learn more about advertising on Facebook.  This session title is “Facebook Advertising From Soup to Nuts”.

The lineup of sessions for Tuesday are just as interesting. Topics for Tuesday include, presentation on implementing coupon strategy into affiliate website, advanced paid search strategies, blogging and more.

At 2:00 on Tuesday there is a panel discussion titled “Strategies for Marketing to Women” that will discuss “marketing to women from a merchant, OPM, and affiliate viewpoint”. Panel is Kim Salvino from buy.at; Tricia Meyer of Sunshine Rewards; Kristin Kinsey, of MadHatter Consulting, Inc. and Laura Parvey-Connors,Vanns and Mamalode

During all of the sessions there is a new format for asking questions. The audience will submit questions via text. You can read more about this at the Affiliate Summit blog, Asking Questions at Affiliate Summit East. Having spoken at previous Summits and also having been in the audience at many other sessions, I welcome this change as it will solve the problem of both inaudible questions and those that are overly verbose.

In my next post I will talk about the Meet the Expert Session which is a different format than other sessions.

Thanks for mentioning our “Marketing to Women” panel. I am excited to be presenting again. But not quite as excited as I am about seeing all of the other great sessions. :)

You’re welcome Tricia, it sounds like an interesting session. And you’re right, lots of great sessions to choose from.

See you in a couple of days!

(Can’t believe I forgot to add the panelist names for this session, I updated my post)
