Just a quick update and reminder regarding the public hearing of HB 5481 in Connecticut. HB5481 is the Connecticut Internet sales tax bill. The hearing for this bill is scheduled for Monday, March 15 at 11:oo am. The hearing will take place at Legislative Office Building, 300 Capitol Avenue, Hartford room 2E. Arrive a little early to be sure you have time to sign up to testify. Contact me this weekend for suggestions on the process and experience.
At this time there are 15 other bills on the agenda so it may be a long day. The Connecticut Legislative website has some helpful information located in a Guide for Testifying it’s a good idea to read through it.
If you cannot testify it is critical that you email the Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee and your Senators and Representatives. If you would like guidelines for writing legislators and a sample letter, I have posted information at How to Voice Opinion on a Bill to Legislators.
